The Note — Friday, February 20, 2026
You might have noticed that these issues come with different names. Each one has a slightly different job. Monday is The Signal, the deals you need to know, without the noise. Wednesday is The Edit, with a more considered theme. And today is The Note. This one is about good things worth passing along, recommendations, interesting finds, the kind of stuff I’d text a friend.
Frock Toronto — Closing Sale
Code: CLOSING50 | Expires Spring 2026

I've just started this newsletter and I've been reaching out to friends for recommendations on brands worth featuring. A friend pointed me to Frock. Bittersweet timing, as it turned out, but exactly the kind of stores I want to share.
Frock has been on Roncesvalles in Toronto for over twenty years. Cathryn founded it and built it into a neighbourhood staple. When she passed four years ago, her husband Jim took over to honour what she'd built. He's ready to retire now, and Spring 2026 is the last season.
The closing sale is legitimately good. Use code CLOSING50 at checkout for an extra 50% off already-reduced prices.
If you're in Toronto, it's a store worth visiting. If you're not, they ship across Canada. Gift cards still accepted — use them while you can.

Eternity Modern — Family Day Sale
Code: FAMILY | Expires Feb 24

Vancouver-based furniture brand running tiered discounts: $250 off orders over $1,800, $450 off $3,500+, or $750 off $5,500+. They specialize in mid-century reproductions with GREENGUARD and FSC certification.
The Bellini Modular Sofa is the one to look at. I've had mine for a few years and it's held up better than i could have hoped for, and it looks amazing. It's not cheap even with the discount, but it's the right investment if you're looking for a sofa that lasts.
Fable — 20% Off Dinnerware
Free Dessert Bowls ($79 value) with $350+ orders

Toronto ceramics brand. 20% off all dinnerware plus free Dessert Bowls on orders over $350. Fable doesn't discount often.
They make one dinnerware design. That's it. They nailed it and don't need a bunch of options. Pick your colour and you're done. It's timeless enough that Fable will carry this design for years — if you break a plate, you can replace it without starting over.
MTN.HEAD x Naked & Famous — Washed Indigo Classic Crew
25% off with code LASTRUN
I love a Canadian brand collaboration. MTN.HEAD and Naked & Famous made a denim-focused collection called the Canadian Tuxedo, and the Washed Indigo Classic Crew is the standout.
Washed Indigo Classic Crew
100% cotton washed indigo collab crewneck with Naked & Famous Denim.
Right now it's 25% off with code LASTRUN (comes to about $112), and the full collection is worth browsing.

Weekend Plan: Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie
Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie is in theatres now. Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol — the co-creators — made a time-travel comedy set across Toronto, and it's the kind of Canadian film that almost never gets made. I'm excited to see it.
If you're in Toronto, they also put together a Best of Toronto list during their press tour for the film. Thai Nyyom, dumplings at Dumpling House, cocktails at Civil Liberties. Honestly, some great recommendations.
That's The Note, see you Monday.
